Rodri shares his emotions after receiving the 2024 Ballon d’Or award

Rodri marked an important milestone in his playing career when he won the 2024 Ballon d’Or. The 28-year-old midfielder had a successful season when he helped Man City win the 2023-2024 Premier League and was a key player in Spain’s Euro 2024 crown.

Stepping up to the podium to receive the award, Rodri had to be helped up the stage by Chelsea legend Didier Drogba due to an injury he suffered in September and will be out for the rest of the season.

The Man City midfielder emotionally shared the moment he lifted the Ballon d’Or trophy, closing a memorable year in his career.

“It was an incredible night for me. To get to where I am today, the most important thing is to try to improve myself with every game. I want to thank everyone who has recognized my value in every aspect.

When I was a child, I never thought about winning the Ballon d’Or, but in recent years I have given my all at the highest level and achieved many achievements. It is very emotional and thank you to everyone,” Rodri shared at the 2024 Ballon d’Or award ceremony.
