A Bola newspaper said Ruben Amorim will be in Manchester today, October 30, along with three coaches Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido and Jorge Vital. This means that MU has paid the full 10 million euros to Sporting to liquidate Amorim’s contract and he has left.
Amorim is expected to sign for Manchester United today and be unveiled. His three assistants will be the first members of the new coaching staff, before Amorim considers the remaining members of the current MU coaching staff to decide who to keep or drop.
Previously, coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy was confirmed to not continue working for MU after taking temporary charge of the match against Leicester City in the League Cup.
According to the Independent, MU is negotiating to recruit two of Ruben Amorim’s trusted assistants at Sporting Lisbon. They are Carlos Fernandes (29 years old) and Adelio Candido (28 years old). Both joined Sporting Lisbon on the same day as the Portuguese coach. According to the Record, Sporting Lisbon wants to keep Carlos Fernandes as an interim coach or as a youth coach so that coach Joao Pereira can take over Amorim’s position.
