Real Madrid lost to AC Milan: Vinicius and Mbappe ‘dumb ball’ received criticism

“Real Madrid’s defeat in the Clasico repeats the disaster against AC Milan ,” AS commented in an article published in a prominent position on its homepage this morning (November 6).

Real Madrid lost to AC Milan 1-3 at home. This defeat further increased the sadness of Real Madrid fans after a series of unfavorable events.

Another author in AS commented: “Two consecutive injuries – Vinicius’s Ballon d’Or turned into a dud and the slap in the face in El Clasico – turned into rain at the Bernabeu. This is not the right time to start a series of defeats for a team that has made turning the tables a habit”.

Malick Thiaw opened the scoring for AC Milan in the 12th minute. Real Madrid equalized with a Vinicius penalty but conceded a goal shortly after. The Spanish team’s defense was very poor in both situations.

In the second half, Real Madrid missed many chances and could not score more goals. On the contrary, AC Milan sealed the 3-1 victory with a goal from Tijjani Reijnders.

Vinicius and Mbappe – the striker pair in Real Madrid’s 4-4-2 formation – were the focus of criticism after the defeat. Coach Carlo Ancelotti still seems to be unable to find a way to combine Real Madrid’s two attacking stars.

The Brazilian striker was not sharp either, plus his back passes were poor and he did not control the ball well. Fans at the Bernabeu were angry with Vinicius’ attitude and passivity at the end of the match ,” Marca commented on Vinicius and gave the striker 6 points.

Mbappe also received a similar score with the assessment: “This striker was unlucky and could not put the ball into the opponent’s goal. He was very active in attack but did not support defense.”
