The lack of playing time for Wonderkids Endrick and Arda Guler is causing unrest at Real Madrid.
Teenagers Endrick and Arda Guler aren’t getting enough playing time, which has angered Real Madrid’s leadership, especially president Florentino Perez.
Endrick could play centre-forward but that is not being done apart from when he is off the bench, which isn’t often enough
Guler had a fantastic Euros but hasn’t had a look in
Ancelotti’s squad was packed with youth but those talents have hardly been seen
WHAT OCCURRED?
According to Relevo journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascual, Real Madrid’s board members, including president Florentino Perez, are upset with manager Carlo Ancelotti for not giving adolescent talents Endrick and Arda Guler more playing time.
THE LARGER IMAGE
Considering that they won the La Liga-Champions League double at the end of the previous season, Real Madrid hasn’t had the best start to the current campaign.
Over the next five to ten years, Kylian Mbappe was expected to be the last piece of this puzzle and guide this squad to unmatched success, but as a center striker, he has proven to be unproductive.
If that wasn’t enough, the team’s midfielders haven’t been able to fill the vacuum created by Toni Kroos’ retirement. Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni, for example, seem to be a shell of the people they were in 2023–24.
WERE YOU AWARED?
Surprisingly, in the last four games across all competitions, Endrick and Guler have combined for just one minute of action. It’s difficult to comprehend why Ancelotti hasn’t used either of the teenagers given Mbappe’s difficulties and the midfield’s lack of inventiveness. The two have made an impression most of the time in the few minutes they have been given this season.
