Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has encountered more injury setbacks. The dynamic point guard sustained multiple hip injuries in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers and will be monitored weekly. Morant is expected to rest in the coming period following this injury.
According to a PR release from the Grizzlies, Morant suffered a posterior hip subluxation along with multiple Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains, though there was no hip dislocation.
Morant’s condition will be assessed weekly, and the Grizzlies will keep the public updated on his progress.
The injury happened in the third quarter when Morant attempted to catch a lob, collided mid-air with Christian Koloko, and landed on his hip. Officials ruled it a no-call.
In his first eight games of the season, Morant has averaged 20.6 points, a career-high 9.1 assists, and 5.0 rebounds.
