Bellingham’s resurgence at Real Madrid: A model for Mbappé
Jude Bellingham scored his first goal of the 2024/25 season and made a significant impact for Real Madrid, setting an example for Kylian Mbappé to follow. After 13 official matches, Bellingham’s goal finally came, and the iconic “Hey Jude” by The Beatles echoed through the Bernabeu stands.
His passion and determination were evident. Bellingham was the team’s standout leader last season, but with the arrival of Kylian Mbappé this year, he became more of a supporting figure.
Carlo Ancelotti, responding to Mbappé’s presence and the absence of Toni Kroos, shifted Bellingham to a midfield role, positioning him further from the goal.
However, in the most recent La Liga match against Osasuna, when Mbappé’s performance wasn’t up to expectations, Ancelotti decided to restore Bellingham to his familiar attacking role. Positioned on the left wing in a 4-4-2 formation, with the freedom to roam, Bellingham delivered his best performance of the season. He excelled both offensively and defensively.
“Jude’s goal was just a small part of his overall great performance in both attacking and defending,” Carletto praised after Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna.
Bellingham sparked the goal spree with an assist for Vinicius to open the scoring, then scored himself before completing his hat-trick, showcasing his all-around brilliance.
