England dominates their Nations League group after easily defeating their hosts, Greece, 3-0.
In their Nations League match on Thursday, England easily defeated Greece 3-0 to take the lead in Group B2. They will now play for promotion against Ireland on their last matchday.
England won easily thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins, a Greek own goal, and a late flick from Curtis Jones, who made his debut. They now have 12 points from five games.
On goal differential, they are ahead of Greece, who defeated them 2-1 in London last month.
Due to injury, nine players, including Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, were left out of interim manager Lee Carsley’s squad as the visitors traveled into Greece.
The withdrawals were harshly criticized by captain Harry Kane, who insisted that nation must always come before club.
Although Kane was unexpectedly benched until the second half, England’s start was anything but lazy as they easily controlled the ball and had an early goal from Watkins.
