Ruben Amorim recently made his first visit to Old Trafford as Manchester United’s new manager.
Amorim joins the club after a highly successful stint with Sporting Clube de Portugal, where he secured two league titles and three domestic cups over four and a half years.
Following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal last week, Amorim quickly became the top candidate to succeed the Dutchman, prompting United to act swiftly in securing his appointment.
The Portuguese manager has brought several coaches and support staff members with him and is now preparing for his debut match after the international break.
He officially started his role on Monday but, with most of the squad on international duty, hadn’t had many chances to visit Old Trafford. This week, however, he was seen touring the stadium, marking a special occasion for the 39-year-old.
Amorim has played at Old Trafford before during his time with Benfica and Braga, but this visit held a unique significance.
Photos captured him in various locations around the iconic stadium, with floodlights brightening the pitch, making for a memorable day. He visited the press area, posed on the sidelines, and took in images of past United legends.
The new manager has already met some of his players, including those who weren’t called up for national duty. He was pictured sharing warm greetings with Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo, laughing with Leny Yoro, and chatting with academy product Toby Collyer.
Amorim has also received early support from new captain Bruno Fernandes, who highlighted a key quality he believes will benefit the manager. Fernandes told MUTV, “What stands out for me is the connection he has with players.”
