Cristiano Ronaldo has a lot of expensive habits. When he was at the top of his game, he was probably the most famous player in the world. Even his birthday party at Real Madrid was attended by people from all over the world.
He was eager to go all out to celebrate his 30th birthday in 2015, which was that year. That meant inviting Kevin Roldan, a Colombian reggaeton singer, to the party. His party happened after they lost 4-0 to Atletico Madrid in the derby match. He invited the rich and famous of Madrid as well as the rest of the team.
In an interview with RadioMarca, Roldan talked about what happened.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a man of expensive habits, and at the height of his stardom, was arguably the biggest personality in the game. While at Real Madrid, even his birthday parties were international events
“I remember it very well.” While we were in New York, my dad called to tell me that we had a party in Madrid in two weeks. I told him it wasn’t possible because we had a show in Mexico that day.
“So, he told them that Cristiano Ronaldo made the request.” It costs more to go to a private party, but he was willing to pay. For those kinds of shows, I made a quarter of a million dollars at that time. I don’t like to talk about money.
After seeing pictures of Ronaldo and some of the team partying that night and the number seven singing with Roldan, the Real Madrid team was said to be split. Spain lost to Barcelona, who went on to win all three La Liga titles. During the party, Gerard Pique famously told Roldan, “With you, everything started.”
