Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo, two young stars of English football, appear prominently in GQ

Chelsea star Cole Palmer jokingly said he prefers to wear casual sportswear when asked about the classy outfit he wore for a photoshoot for GQ magazine. The 22-year-old appeared alongside his England team-mate Kobbie Mainoo.

The pair posed in high-end looks from Burberry, Dior and Louis Vuitton at a London studio, pairing bold blazers, sweaters and jeans. Despite his casual style, Palmer is not afraid to splurge when the opportunity presents itself. On a salary of £130,000 a week, he treated himself to a platinum and blue Rolex Daytona after his first England cap.

Palmer has always been mindful of his roots and has recently returned to the youth clubs where he played to give boots to young talent.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City for £40m, Palmer has been a revelation, becoming a key player under Mauricio Pochettino and now Enzo Maresca.

Mainoo enjoyed a meteoric rise last season after breaking into Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United squad, winning the FA Cup with the club.

Mainoo is expected to shine under new coach Ruben Amorim.
