While suspended, Eduardo Camavinga watched as France secured the top spot in their Nations League group with a victory over Italy

France triumphed over Italy to top their Nations League group, with Eduardo Camavinga sidelined due to suspension.

Camavinga traveled to Milan with his teammates but was forced to watch from the sidelines as France secured a 3-1 victory over Italy, mirroring Italy’s 3-1 win in Paris earlier in the competition.

Didier Deschamps’ squad needed a third goal to match Italy’s result and improve their goal difference and head-to-head record. Adrien Rabiot’s second goal, along with an own goal from Italy’s Guglielmo Vicario, sealed the win for France.

Despite being absent on the pitch, Camavinga was part of the squad, having been replaced by AS Roma’s Manu Kané after picking up his second yellow card of the Nations League during France’s match against Israel earlier in the week.

Camavinga will return for the next international break in March 2025, when France competes in the Nations League quarterfinals.
