Darwin Nunez, one of Liverpool’s strikers, celebrated Uruguay’s 101st-minute winner over Colombia.

Uruguay defeated Colombia 3-2 in an epic South American World Cup qualifier, and Darwin Nunez celebrated in front of former Everton defender Yerry Mina.

Colombia had a 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to a Juan Fernando Quintero free, but Davinson Sanchez’s own goal and Rodrigo Aguirre’s goal made it 2-1 before the hour.

Much of the game’s occurred later.

Colombia equalised in the 96th minute by Andres Gomez.

In the 101st minute, Manchester United player Manuel Ugarte scored from 15 yards for Uruguay.

Uruguayan attacker Nunez celebrated in the face of Colombia’s Mina after Ugarte’s victory ignited wild celebrations on the field and in the spectators.

Nunez was still excited after the triumph and appeared to with Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz, who had played the complete game for Colombia.

Nunez and Diaz cuddled after a furious argument.

Mina played for Everton during 2018-2023. Fiorentina signed him on a free transfer before Cagliari signed him in June.

Nunez played the whole 90 minutes for his country after starting and scoring in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

He has only started four Premier League games under Reds manager Arne Slot this season, but Slot has praised his determination.

Slot added, ‘I think about Darwin, I gave him credit for the fact he worked so hard in prior weeks when he didn’t play much to play three games in a succession.

Three games in eight days says a lot about him, but it also says a lot about our performance and medical team for giving him the right sessions to prepare him.
