Bruno Fernandes has sent a heartfelt message to his former Manchester United teammate, Paul Pogba, following the termination of his contract with Juventus.
Last week, it was confirmed that the Italian club and Pogba would be parting ways after a month of discussions.
Pogba will be eligible to return to play in January after the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his four-year doping ban to just 18 months in October, as reported exclusively by Mail Sport.
The French midfielder was initially suspended on September 11, 2023, by Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal (Nado) due to elevated testosterone levels detected in a random drug test.
Pogba’s original contract with Juventus was set to run until June 2026 after he rejoined the club from Manchester United in the summer of 2022. Now without a club, Pogba took to Instagram last week to express his gratitude to Juventus for their support during this difficult time.
In an Instagram post, Pogba shared: “There are times when things don’t go as we hope, but one thing is for sure: the connection I have with you, dear fans, will always be unforgettable.
“You’ve given me so much, more than words can express, and I will forever carry with me all the love you’ve shown me. You will always have a place in my heart. Best of luck @Juventus.”
The post quickly gained attention on social media, including reactions from many of his former teammates from his time at Old Trafford. Numerous current and past Manchester United players sent messages of support to Pogba as he embarks on his search for a new club.
Among those who commented was current United captain, Fernandes, who played alongside Pogba in midfield for two and a half years.
