Nani, a former Manchester United player, has come full circle in his career by returning to his hometown club, Estrela da Amadora.
After leaving Turkish side Adana Demirspor in May, the 37-year-old Portuguese winger became a free agent and was welcomed back by Estrela da Amadora.
During his time at Manchester United, Nani won four Premier League titles, among other prestigious trophies. Last season, he signed a one-year contract with Estrela da Amadora, who finished fourteenth in the Primeira Liga. This marks his tenth different club in a long career.
Born in Amadora, located just northwest of Lisbon, Nani previously played for Sporting and United before returning to his roots. Over his 18-year career at Old Trafford, he achieved four Premier League titles, a Champions League victory, two League Cups, and a Club World Cup.
Estrela da Amadora expressed excitement about his return, stating, “Luis Nani has gone back to his roots,” as the Portuguese international rejoined the team for another season.
