Nike chooses Vini Jr. to wear boots that are linked to Ronaldo’s 2002 win.
Nike is putting out a limited version of the Mercurial boots that Ronaldo Fenômeno wore when Brazil won the 2002 World Cup. In Brazil, you will only be able to get the limited version through the Nike app in the first half of December.
The brand picked Vinicius Júnior to wear the Mercurial Vapor 1 RGN, which is now known as the chrome-colored Mercurial Vapor 1, on the field to promote the shoe. A reflection of Ronaldo Fenômeno in Vini Jr.’s boots is the main image in the launch ad.

“It’s an honor to wear these boots now, knowing all the history they hold.” They stand for Ronaldo, one of the best football legends. “I can’t wait to play with them for the first time in the next games and hopefully score as many goals as R9 did with them,” Vini Jr., who has been supported by the American brand since 2013, said.
The Mercurial Vapor 1 RGN was inspired by the speed of sports cars. It has a tribute to Ronaldo on the inside of the tongue and a lot of other changes. These include FlyTouch+ technology, which gives you a better grip when it’s wet, a wave-shaped friction system that lets you make quick cuts no matter what, and an Air Zoom unit that speeds things up. The form of the boot has also been thought out to make it more comfortable to wear.
