Man Utd – Bodo/Glimt: Eye-catching 5-goal chase, Hojlund shines

Manchester United faced a tough challenge against Bodo/Glimt, but the “Red Devils” ultimately secured the result they needed.

The match began with a bang as MU capitalized on an early mistake by Bodo/Glimt.

Within the opening minute, Højlund intercepted goalkeeper Haikin’s pass, setting up Garnacho for an easy finish to give MU an early lead. However, instead of setting the tone for a dominant performance, this goal only spurred Bodo/Glimt to fight back with determination.

In the 19th minute, a swift counterattack from Bodo/Glimt saw Sondre Fet deliver a perfect pass to Evjen, who slotted home to equalize. Just four minutes later, Zinckernagel used his pace to bypass Malacia, breaking free to score a second goal and turn the match in Bodo/Glimt’s favor.

Despite the setback, MU sought an equalizer through individual brilliance. Just before halftime, Mazraoui’s pinpoint cross found Højlund, who controlled the ball expertly and struck quickly to level the score at 2-2.

This crucial goal eased the pressure on MU heading into the second half. In the 50th minute, Højlund secured his brace with the help of Ugarte’s clever assist, putting MU ahead 3-2. With the lead in hand, the “Red Devils” played with more confidence, creating further chances.

However, Garnacho and Rashford missed key opportunities to extend the advantage, leaving the final score at 3-2 in favor of MU.
