Camavinga out for 2-3 weeks due to injury, Real Madrid in more trouble
Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga will have to miss 2-3 weeks due to injury, in Real Madrid’s 0-2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield this morning (matchday 5 of the 2024/25 Champions League qualifying round).
The 22-year-old French international was one of the rare bright spots for Los Blancos against Liverpool. However, Camavinga injured the posterior muscle of his left foot in an unfortunate landing situation, although he did not collide with anyone after Liverpool’s first goal.
Despite receiving a few minutes of treatment, Camavinga was still unable to continue playing, forcing coach Carlo Ancelotti to take him off and Lucas Vazquez to replace the French player. Initially, Real’s doctors diagnosed that Camavinga only needed a few days or a week of rest to fully recover. However, according to information from Relivo, this player has a hamstring injury and he has had problems with his left foot this season.
Therefore, he will be absent for 2 to 3 weeks. This is extremely bad news for Real when they are in a crisis due to injuries. At Anfield, coach Ancelotti could not field the strongest squad because many key players are sick such as Vinicius, Eder Militao, Tchouameni, Rodrygo, Alaba and Carvajal.
It is known that in addition to Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Brahim Diaz also had physical problems after the match against Liverpool ended. All three players will undergo a thorough medical examination tomorrow to determine whether anyone will be absent from the match against Getafe in La Liga this weekend.
