The Memphis Grizzlies anticipate forward GG Jackson II returning in six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery in September to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot. The team provided an update on Wednesday, stating that further information would be shared “as appropriate.”
Jackson’s injury was first announced on August 30 after he sustained it during a layup while playing basketball in Texas.
Selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, Jackson played 48 games, starting in 18, and averaged 14.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors, standing out in a challenging 27-55 season for the Grizzlies.
As of Wednesday night, Memphis holds a 14-8 record and is ranked fourth in the Western Conference.
