Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot amid their ongoing search for defensive reinforcements. This follows several unsuccessful attempts to lure Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract is set to expire in the summer.
Despite Madrid’s interest, Alexander-Arnold’s deep ties to Liverpool, combined with the team’s dominant Premier League form, make a move increasingly unlikely.
As a result, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has identified Dalot as a strong alternative to the England international.
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Real Madrid value Dalot at approximately £41 million. The Spanish giants had even approached Manchester United about the 25-year-old during Erik ten Hag’s tenure.
Dalot has been a key player for the Red Devils, amassing 178 appearances and earning the Player of the Year award from his teammates last season. His influence grew significantly during United’s challenging 2023-24 campaign, where he made 35 starts in 38 league games, scoring twice.
The Portuguese defender’s consistent performances have made him a standout at Old Trafford, attracting the attention of the 15-time Champions League winners as they seek to bolster their squad.
