Real Madrid aims to finalize the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, as their chances of acquiring Alphonso Davies diminish.
Davies has been a long-term target for Real Madrid, which is looking to strengthen its defense after facing numerous injuries in that area, with Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao sidelined for an extended period. While David Alaba is gradually regaining his fitness, Lucas Vazquez has just returned to the starting lineup.
Real Madrid previously had strong links to signing Davies, whose contract at Allianz Arena is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season. However, Cadena SER reports that Bayern Munich has approached the Canadian player with two new contract offers.
Although the defender has not yet committed his future to the Bundesliga club, there are indications that he is increasingly considering the possibility of staying.
The report also mentions that the Spanish champions are looking to intensify their pursuit of Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold, as they do not want to waste time engaging in bidding wars for Davies.
Instead, they are preparing a specific offer to sign the English defender as early as January if he does not agree to a new contract extension with Liverpool this month.
