Real Madrid legend Benzema makes a significant decision about his future, preparing for a return to Los Blancos

Striker Karim Benzema is said to be set to make a decision about his future, which could involve his former club Real Madrid.

According to Relevo, striker Karim Benzema may decide to retire from football at the end of the 2024/2025 season. Currently, the French player’s contract with Al Ittihad is still valid until the summer of 2026, but he will likely soon change his mind due to the fatigue from the daily life and habits in Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, Benzema will likely take on the role of ambassador for his former club Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region. The close relationship between Benzema and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is said to be the main reason for this decision.

During his career at Real Madrid, Benzema has won five Champions League titles, four La Liga titles, four European Super Cups, three Copa del Reys and four Spanish Super Cups.

The 36-year-old striker also made 648 appearances for “Los Blancos”, scoring 354 goals and providing 165 assists. In 2022, his top-class performances in the Champions League helped Benzema be honored with the Golden Ball award for the first time in his career, and this is considered a worthy reward for what he has contributed to the Royal team.

In the summer of 2023, the former Lyon star took a new step in his career when he moved to play for Al Ittihad. After 38 appearances, Benzema had a total of 22 goals and 11 assists for his teammates, and was the main striker of the “Rich Man of Arabia”.

Currently, under the guidance of Laurent Blanc, the former Real Madrid star has maintained his impressive form, becoming the second best scorer in the Saudi Pro League with 10 goals, only behind Aleksandar Mitrovic (12 goals).

Benzema is also making a great contribution to help Al Ittihad compete for the top spot in this tournament.
