Carlo Ancelotti Wins World’s Best Coach Award
Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is in charge of Real Madrid, was awarded FIFA’s The Best award for the world’s best coach on Tuesday in Doha.
Ancelotti has led the Madrid team to victory in the UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, as well as the European and Spanish Super Cups, and on Wednesday he could also win the Intercontinental Cup against Mexican side Pachuca.
“I see many familiar faces of the players I coached here. It is a great honour to receive this recognition from FIFA. I would like to thank the FIFA President, but also to share this award with my club, with President Florentino Pérez, who gave me the opportunity to be the coach of the best club in the world, and also with my players, who do not always listen to me, but sometimes they do,” he joked when accepting the award.
“Thanks to my family, thanks to my wife for giving me peace and love, which is very important in this job. I have been in football for 48 years and it has brought me many emotions, sometimes positive and sometimes, but that is a big reason why I am still in this profession after all these years,” he added.
