After a slow start to life at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé has etched his name in the club’s record books, trailing only Jude Bellingham and Cristiano Ronaldo in a notable La Liga milestone.
Much has been said about Mbappé’s performances since his summer move from Paris Saint-Germain, but the French forward ended 2024 in spectacular fashion. In Real Madrid’s final match of the year, Mbappé delivered a stunning long-range strike against Sevilla, marking his 10th La Liga goal of the season.
Mbappé now stands as the third-fastest player to reach 10 La Liga goals for Real Madrid in the 21st century, achieving the feat in just 16 appearances. Jude Bellingham holds the record, having reached the milestone in 10 matches during his remarkable debut season, while Cristiano Ronaldo, the club’s all-time top scorer, managed it in 13 games.
The French star could have reached this milestone even sooner, but a missed penalty against Athletic Bilbao delayed his tally. Since that setback, the 26-year-old has been in red-hot form, scoring in four consecutive matches to close out December. He also recorded both a goal and an assist in two straight games, a first in his brief but impactful Real Madrid career.
Mbappé now ranks third in La Liga’s scoring charts this season, leading Real Madrid with 10 goals. He trails only Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski (16) and Raphinha (11) in the race for the Pichichi Trophy.
Across all competitions, Mbappé has netted 14 goals in 24 appearances. While he’s still striving to reach the heights of his PSG peak, his recent performances suggest he’s finding his stride and beginning to live up to the immense expectations surrounding his blockbuster transfer.
