Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and the rest of the Liverpool team visited Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to bring some holiday joy.
On Thursday, Liverpool manager Arne Slot, along with his coaching staff and players, made a special visit to the hospital in West Derby, Liverpool, for a meet-and-greet. They took photos, distributed Reds merchandise, and spent quality time with patients and their families, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.
The Liverpool captain shared with the club’s website: “Being here and making these kids smile is such a wonderful thing. I know it’s a delightful surprise for them. Alder Hey is an incredible hospital with fantastic staff. It’s a special place where we hope everyone recovers. The dedication of the staff who support those in need, especially the children, is truly remarkable. I have immense respect for them.”
Alder Hey is one of the largest and busiest children’s hospitals in Europe, treating over 450,000 kids and young people each year. Many patients face challenging times, so visits like this from the Liverpool squad will be memorable for them.
