Real Madrid Initiates the Election Process for Club President in 2025

The Election Process

As per Article 38, section b of Real Madrid’s bylaws, the Board of Directors must authorize the start of the election process. Once approved, the decision will be forwarded to the Electoral Board to kick off formal proceedings.

Historically, the election process has been efficient. In the 2021 election, candidates had 13 days—from April 1 to April 13—to declare their candidacy, and Pérez ran unopposed, securing re-election without competition.

Florentino Pérez’s Presidency

Since resuming his role as president in 2009, Pérez has faced no challengers in the elections of 2013, 2017, and 2021. His presidency has been marked by extraordinary accomplishments, including multiple Champions League titles, major signings, and the redevelopment of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
