Real Madrid star surpassed Mesut Özil in the Copa del Rey triumph

On Monday, a midfielder from La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid surpassed club legend Mesut Özil in the team’s all-time goalscoring list.

The player in question is Federico Valverde.

 

 

 

The Uruguayan international made his latest start as Real Madrid faced off against the lower-league team Deportiva Minera in a Copa del Rey match.

The 26-year-old played a key role in the match, contributing to a decisive 5-0 victory.

Valverde kicked things off with a spectacular opening goal and also provided an assist for Arda Güler.

As mentioned earlier, his impressive performance has propelled him further up the all-time goalscoring rankings in Madrid.

According to statisticians at StatMuse, Valverde has now scored 28 goals for Real Madrid, surpassing Mesut Özil by one.
