Vinicius will serve a two-match ban after receiving a red card for his altercation with the goalkeeper

Real Madrid receive good news from Vinicius Junior’s suspension

Vinicius Junior was shown a straight red card in the match against Valencia after pushing goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski. The red card came when Real Madrid were losing 0-1 at the Mestalla. But despite being short-handed, Real were still able to come back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham in the final minutes.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti shared after the match that he did not believe it was a red card and confirmed that Real Madrid would appeal.

After the match, Vinicius Junior apologized for his actions, especially when he showed anger after receiving the red card. The Brazilian player rushed to question referee Cesar Soto Grado and had to be separated by teammate Antonio Rudiger and goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis.

Vinicius Junior has been officially suspended for two domestic matches by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Vinicius is still allowed to play in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Mallorca in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Vinicius’s suspension will be applied to the next two La Liga matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.

Vinicius Junior’s presence gives Real Madrid more confidence in their ability to win the Spanish Super Cup. If they reach the final, Real will face Athletic Bilbao or arch-rivals Barcelona.
