Bellingham and Rodrygo lead Real Madrid to the final against Barca

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti downplayed the incident at the end of the semi-final, calling the on-field brawl between Real Madrid and Mallorca players “unnecessary”. The Italian told Movistar: “I tried to calm things down a bit with Maffeo. I came on to help stop the fight. The players were very angry, but in the end nothing happened. The fight was unnecessary. The game is over. I don’t blame my players or Mallorca, it was unnecessary for both teams.”

Real Madrid will defend their title against bitter rivals Barca in Sunday’s final. However, they could be without Aurelien Tchouameni, a midfielder who played as a centre-back in the semi-finals, as the Frenchman suffered a concussion in a 54th-minute and was replaced by youngster Raul Asencio. Bellingham is also said to be out of action after finishing the game with some muscle discomfort.

“El Clasico is always unpredictable lately,” said Ancelotti. “It’s difficult to say what the next game will be like. It will be interesting, there will be a lot of quality on the pitch… At the moment we are improving because Bellingham is more dynamic, he combines more with Vinicius and Rodrygo.”
