Kylian Mbappe reflects on his challenging time at Real Madrid, indicating that a Liverpool player played a part in the situation

Kylian Mbappé faced a challenging start to his Real Madrid career, failing to score in his first three matches. However, he identifies a particularly tough period in November, when he missed consecutive penalties, as his lowest point.

Mbappé shared that he realized he had hit rock bottom at Real Madrid after failing to convert penalties against Liverpool and Athletic Bilbao last year. Since joining the La Liga club last summer, he has netted 18 goals in 30 appearances, but the transition hasn’t been without its struggles, especially as Real Madrid faced some setbacks during the 2024-25 season.

Initially, Mbappé struggled to find the net, but he improved significantly before encountering another rough patch. While Madrid currently sits at the top of the La Liga table, their Champions League journey has been rocky, with three defeats, including a 2-0 loss to Liverpool in November.
