Vinícius aims to break Ronaldo’s Brazilian record at Madrid following his 100th goal

Vinícius Júnior has set his sights on surpassing Ronaldo Nazário’s record as Real Madrid’s highest-scoring Brazilian after scoring his 100th goal for the club during their 5-1 Champions League victory over RB Salzburg on Wednesday.

Rodrygo netted two goals, one of which was assisted by the impressive Jude Bellingham, giving Madrid a 2-0 lead at halftime at the Santiago Bernabéu. Kylian Mbappé added a third before Vinícius scored twice to seal the win and secure Madrid’s spot in the knockout phase of the tournament.

With this performance, Vinícius has now scored 101 goals for Madrid across all competitions, bringing him closer to the Brazilian legend Ronaldo, who scored 104 goals during his five-year tenure with the club from 2002 to 2007.

“I’m thrilled to score goals in this shirt,” Vinícius said in an interview with Movistar on Wednesday. “I’m just three goals away from Ronaldo, aiming to be the Brazilian with the most goals for this club. Hopefully, I can add more.”
