Luis Diaz attributes Liverpool’s impressive start to the season to a strong sense of togetherness and collective spirit within the team. Under the leadership of Arne Slot, the Reds have lost only twice in 33 matches across all competitions and currently top both the Premier League and Champions League tables, while also progressing to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Their latest triumph came with a 2-1 victory over Lille at Anfield, marking their seventh consecutive win in the Champions League group stage and securing a place in the last 16 with a game to spare.
In a recent interview featured in the official matchday programme, Diaz expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “We’re very happy and very pleased about the season we’re having. The lies in the fact that we’ve created a great group, a big family, both on the pitch and in our training sessions.”
He praised the new coaching staff for their impactful work, emphasizing that it has been fundamental to their success. Diaz highlighted the importance of executing what they practice in training, contributing to their current standings in both the Premier League and Champions League.
“It’s really key, to be honest, as it brings with it a huge boost in confidence,” he added. However, Diaz remained grounded, noting, “We haven’t won anything at all yet, and of course, there is a long way to go.”
He concluded with a commitment to maintain their current dynamic, stressing the need to keep their feet on the ground and continue working hard to achieve their objectives while focusing on winning.
