With a narrow victory, Barca closes in on Real Madrid and Atletico

In the second half, the home team increased the tempo of the match to find a goal. In the 57th minute, Lewandowski had a chance to open the score from a precise cross from his teammate, but the Polish striker’s header went just wide of the post. However, just 3 minutes later, he took advantage of the opportunity to tap the ball into an empty net, opening the score 1-0 for the match.

Despite conceding a goal, the Alaves players were not discouraged and continued to. In the 72nd minute, Jon Guridi put the ball into Barca’s net but the referee did not recognize it because of an offside. Alaves created a series of dangerous opportunities in front of the home team’s goal but Barca’s defense remained strong to maintain the score of 1-0.

In the end, Barca won 1-0 against Alaves, thereby owning 45 points after 22 matches. The 3 points earned also helped coach Hansi Flick’s team shorten the gap with Atletico and arch-rivals Real Madrid to 3 and 4 points respectively.
