Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United has sustained a cruciate ligament tear in his knee

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has reportedly suffered a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The injury occurred during United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Martinez seemed to jolt his knee while attempting to turn, immediately collapsing in. It quickly became evident that he could not continue.

The club’s medical staff carried him off the field on a stretcher, and the Argentine was visibly emotional as he was taken down the tunnel for further evaluation.
