Real Madrid personnel crisis
Real Madrid suffered another personnel loss when versatile player Lucas Vazquez suffered an injury.
Vazquez played until the 81st minute of the Madrid derby in La Liga on February 9. He was in pain and had to leave the field, making way for Luka Modric. Real Madrid’s homepage announced that Vazquez had a thigh muscle injury and would not be in the squad for the match against Man City in the first leg of the Champions League play-off on February 12.
“After the examination, Lucas Vazquez was diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left thigh, so he will not participate in the trip to Manchester. We will monitor Vazquez’s recovery process,” Real Madrid’s homepage announced.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team has suffered a loss of personnel in recent times. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are two cases of long-term injury absence, making Real Madrid’s defense fragile.
