Cody Gakpo has been awarded the Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for January, marking the first time he has received this honor in his Liverpool career.

The Dutch forward topped the supporter poll on Liverpoolfc.com, with Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai finishing in second and third place, respectively. In January, Gakpo made a significant impact, scoring four goals and providing one assist over seven appearances for the Reds.

Upon receiving the trophy at the AXA Training Centre, Gakpo expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s always amazing to get voted by the fans. It’s a recognition by the fans for the hard work you put in for the team, and I think it’s always nice to get that. I think normally it’s Mo [Salah], which makes sense! But I am very happy that I can win this one.”
