Alexander-Arnold breaks Liverpool senior Steven Gerrard’s record
⭐️ Trent Alexander-Arnold has become Liverpool’s youngest player ever to reach 250 Premier League matches 👕
In round 25 of the Premier League when Liverpool hosted Wolves, Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to the starting lineup after recovering from injury. This was a match of great significance for the English right-back as he reached the milestone of 250 appearances in the Premier League.
More notably, Trent surpassed legend Steven Gerrard to become the youngest Liverpool player in history to reach the milestone of 250 Premier League matches, at 26 years and 132 days. Meanwhile, Gerrard’s old record was set in December 2006 when he was 26 years and 200 days old.
Gerrard spent his entire career at Anfield, playing 710 matches in 17 seasons. The former England midfielder made his Liverpool debut at the age of 18, so it’s no surprise that he’s held the record for the youngest player to reach 250 appearances in the league for the past 19 years.
But Trent may not follow in Gerrard’s footsteps to remain loyal to Liverpool. The England defender’s contract runs until the end of the 2024/25 season and there’s been no sign of a renewal from either side.
.
According to British media, Trent wants to seek a new challenge after winning almost all the trophies at Liverpool. The England international is said to have reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid.
Trent was given his Liverpool debut in 2016. To date, Trent has played 350 games in all competitions for the Reds, but barring any surprises, the defender’s Anfield game count will end at the end of this season.
