‘Ascended to Heaven’: Giannis Antetokounmpo Offers Heartfelt Tribute to His Deceased Father Following TGL-CAFF Partnership

The emotional tribute Giannis Antetokounmpo gives to his late father after the TGL-CAFF collaboration is called “Went to Heaven.”

In his film Giannis: The Marvelous Journey, Giannis Antetokounmpo said, “I don’t want to play no more.” When Charles Antetokounmpo in 2017, it was a terrible loss for the family, and the 22-year-old couldn’t look past it. In seven years, the “Greek Freak” has become famous all over the world. Before he, though, he wrote a moving homage to his father’s life.

The Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation (CAF) was set up to help anyone in need, no matter what the reason is. They do, in fact, have focused drives. Do you remember when Mariah Riddlesprigger took charge of the Diaper Mission? For real, the CAFF is a “global social impact foundation,” as their website says.

And on the day that Antetokounmpo Sr. seven years ago, Giannis wrote a moving tribute on X. “Thank you for showing your support for my family! Our dad seven years ago today, and we started CAFF to honor his memory. I know he’s looking down and being happy, and I’ll leave you with a folded-hands emoji.

To celebrate, the “Greek Freak” did what they always do: they got together for a good cause. The pictures above show Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Veronica Antetokounmpo, Mariah, and other people at the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). The LAGC is home to Tiger Woods’ TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League) team, and Woods and his brothers own a piece of the company.

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that the 29-year-old takes every chance to help the neighborhood. In late January 2024, the NBA gave him the Cares Bob Lanier Community Assist Award for the month of December. The things he did during the “Season of Giving” were just a small part of what he and his family do every day.

Antetokounmpo made sure that as many families as he could have a fun Christmas. He organized events and holiday shopping for kids and fed 86 men living in housing at Guest House Milwaukee on Thanksgiving Day. In addition to the award, the league gave $10,000 to CAFF to thank Giannis for his work.

It’s a family event for Giannis Antetokounmpo and TGL because he works with them.

TGL was made by the PGA Tour and Tiger Woods’ TMRW Sports. Being a mix of tech and live action, it’s a unique and cutting edge golf game. The first official team in the league was the LA Golf Club. Serena, Venus, and Alexis Ohanian were among the first investors. Serena’s husband, Giannis, and his brothers introduced the partnership on X in August of last year.

Plus, the co-founder of Reddit and the 8-time All-Star have been friends for a long time. Ohanian met Giannis and Mariah just a few days ago at a charity golf game put on by CAFF. The newlyweds had just come back from a really fancy wedding in Greece. The rich businessman was seen giving Mariah a warm hug and taking pictures with the Antetokounmpos, which showed how close they are.

In any case, we know that this relationship will lead to great things. After all, the Antetokounmpos have never let people down.
