Real Madrid are on the brink of securing another blockbuster signing, as reports suggest Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer to the Spanish club is nearly finalised.
As per Sergio Lopez in AS, the move is considered 99% done, with only an official announcement pending.
In recent seasons, Real Madrid have prioritized rejuvenating their squad with young talents capable of forming the team’s core for years.
Their current squad averages 27 years in age, striking a balance between youthful energy and seasoned experience.
Staying true to this vision, it’s no shock that they have targeted Alexander-Arnold, whose Liverpool contract expires at the season’s end.

Talks between the player and Real Madrid are reportedly complete, with all contract terms fully settled.
The club has structured his salary and contract length, securing a long-term commitment. The only step left is his formal departure from Liverpool.
Liverpool, however, haven’t abandoned hopes of keeping their prized right-back. Despite his interest in Madrid, they are still pushing to extend his contract at Anfield.
In January, they rejected all approaches, including Madrid’s €15 million bid, opting to risk losing him for free this summer.
At this juncture, the decision rests solely with the player. Real Madrid have laid the groundwork, and unless Alexander-Arnold changes his mind, his move to the Bernabeu appears inevitable.
With the deal nearly complete, his official unveiling as a Real Madrid player seems imminent.
