Emily Armstrong Admits She’s Trying Not to Ruin Linkin Park’s Dynamic

Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong of Linkin Park recently discussed the band’s new album, “From Zero,” with KROQ.

Armstrong said in the interview that she has been making a concerted effort to keep the band intact.

“Obviously, both Colin [Brittain] and I have a lot of firsts. Another thing is that it’s everything I’ve ever desired. It feels like I’ve worked so hard to get here, and this is how everything is laid out for me and us. “It’s absolutely ideal,” she remarked.

Armstrong also revealed that the first song that ever made her want to scream as a child was “One Step Closer.”

“Yeah, I mean, I’m interpreting that as being a band fan. Really, that’s the anchor, and I adore what they do. The singer continued, “I try not to ruin anything, but the fact that I get to be a part of it is still crazy.”

This September, Armstrong became a member of Linkin Park, and the band released their first album in seven years. According to Shinoda’s earlier interview, the band was worried that former member Brad Delson would ruin their fine relationship with Armstrong and new drummer Colin Brittain.

“We are worried. We’ve been working with a great dynamic between the three of us, Emily, and Collin; adding anyone else could ruin everything. I think you’ll enjoy it if you just come in and see it. And he gave it a chance, and he did. Shinoda clarified that one of his initial remarks was, “I think we could write something heavier, like way heavier.”

In other news, Linkin Park has revealed their 2025 tour dates. On some dates, the tour will include special guests such as Grandson, Jean Dawson, Spiritbox, Architects, AFI, Queens of the Stone Age, and Pvris. The tour will begin on January 31 at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City and conclude on November 15 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
