Giannis, who had a knee injury in the run-up to the event and missed the 2017 edition, said that this was a dream come true for the family.

Expectations for this current squad aren’t too high, even if it would be a fairy tale if they went all the way and won the gold together.

A medal for Greece at the EuroBasket isn’t realistic, according to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who also said as much, as did his coach. Nevertheless, there is always a potential to achieve something exceptional when you have a player like him on the squad.

Even though Giannis Antetokounmpo has received a lot of praise in the past year or so, Antetokounmpo isn’t letting that get to him. Duncan Robinson acknowledged that there are moments when he’s unsure of what to do while facing him since he can be absolutely unbeatable.

Antetokounmpo has always been quite modest, and his recent statement that he is not the best player in the world is characteristic of him.

There aren’t many players in the world that intimidate opponents as much as he does on the court, so teams at the EuroBasket will be restless trying to find a method to slow him down, regardless of whether he believes he is the best player in the world.
