As strange as it seems, Chester Bennington from Linkin Park was in both of the Crank films. Bennington had small parts in a number of films, but his most well-known role was as the late frontman of the musical group Linkin Park. In addition to playing two distinct parts in two of Jason Statham’s greatest films, Bennington was one of several musicians featured for Jared Leto’s 2012 documentary Artifact.
Although Bennington wasn’t a well-known actor, his short film roles demonstrated that his exaggerated stage presence worked well in comedy, horror, and action.
Bennington rose to fame through his work with Linkin Park, whose seven albums from 2000 to 2017 included the singer’s distinctive vocals. Throughout his musical career, Bennington led three different bands and was recognized as one of the leading artists who popularized nu-metal. Interestingly, Bennington’s three film appearances are all regarded as cult films, despite the fact that his film career didn’t make up a significant portion of his creative output.
The singer appeared in the anarchic action comedy Crank (2006), its follow-up Crank: High Voltage (2009), and the horror sequel Saw 3D (2010).
