In between stops on their enormous From Zero World Tour, the band penned and recorded “Up From The Bottom.” The song’s resolute piano refrain, distorted riffs, and driving drums, which capitalize on their 2024 live comeback, set the stage for Emily Armstrong and Mike Shinoda’s solo vocal performance of “You keep me waiting down here so far below, staring up from the bottom, up from the bottom.” Shinoda’s most memorable rap passages, turntable scratches, and 808s make up the song’s unexpected bridge, which evokes their trademark genre alchemy with a burst of new inspiration.
