As LeBron James celebrated his third Olympic gold along the Seine in Paris, a little fan got a little too near for his comfort.
If it weren’t for the gold medal around his neck and the bottle of wine in one hand, James, dressed in his USA Basketball t-shirt and gym shorts, almost appeared as though he was on his way to practice. Despite the humor that surrounded his driven Mercedes entrance at a Parisian restaurant, James was swiftly enraged when a young fan blocked his path, supposedly in order to take a picture.
.
James held up his hand to the youngster and said, “Stop, stop, stop.” “Avoid doing that.”
James’ night was unaffected by the incident, though, as the Los Angeles Lakers star swiftly headed toward the restaurant’s entrance while receiving congrats from onlookers.
The incident infuriated a number of fans on the internet.
One on X remarked, “LeBron could have handled that in a much nicer way, even though the kid did block him.” “King James has yet another poor appearance.”
Another person said, “Michael Jordan wouldn’t have done that.”
Others sympathized with James’ situation.
One fan defended James on X by writing, “He’s not snapping.” He’s pleading with him to stop. People getting in my face like that is unthinkable.
The U.S. defeated France 98-87 on Saturday night to win gold for the fifth straight Games, fulfilling Team USA’s aim. James won his third gold and fourth medal overall, Kevin Durant won his fourth Olympic gold, and Stephen Curry scored 24 points, all of which came from 3-pointers.
