Carlo Ancelotti has praised the rapidly developing Arda Guler, saying he will become a “very important player” for Real Madrid in the future.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Although Guler has not been a regular starter, Ancelotti has highlighted the Turkish star’s talent and believes he will eventually become a “fantastic” central midfielder. The Real Madrid coach also noted the 20-year-old’s high potential and improving impact.

WHAT ANCELOTTI SAID

He told the press: “He’s made excellent progress. He is gaining more significance. He’ll be even more influential later on. He’s showing quality and playing more consistently. I see him as a brilliant central midfielder in the making, not only a winger. For Real Madrid’s future, he’ll be vital, as there are few midfielders with his profile.”

Guler has made 37 appearances this term for Madrid, contributing four goals and eight assists. Yet only 13 of those outings were as a starter, leading to summer transfer speculation. But Real Madrid seems keen to retain him despite growing outside interest.
