Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Wears Iconic No. 7 in Portugal U15 Debut
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., son of the legendary five-time Ballon d’Or winner, officially stepped into the international spotlight by making his debut for Portugal’s Under-15 national team on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The 14-year-old forward proudly wore his father’s iconic No. 7 jersey during the Vlatko Markovic youth tournament in Sveti Martin na Muri, Croatia.
The young star began the match on the bench during Portugal’s game against Japan but entered in the 54th minute, with Portugal already leading 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick by Rafael Cabral of Braga. Despite limited time on the field, Ronaldo Jr. captured attention with his familiar poise — even replicating his father’s legendary free-kick stance during warm-up.
Family Support & Legacy
Adding to the emotional weight of the occasion, Maria Dolores, Ronaldo Jr.’s grandmother and Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, was present on the sidelines. She proudly wore her son’s 2010 World Cup shirt and was seen cheering for her grandson as he took his first steps with the national team.
Ronaldo Jr. joined his father in Saudi Arabia over two years ago and currently plays for Al-Nassr’s youth academy. Before that, he gained experience in the youth setups of both Manchester United and Juventus.
A Proud Father
Cristiano Ronaldo himself confirmed his son’s international call-up on social media, sharing a touching message:
“Proud of you, son.”
The elder Ronaldo had previously shared in interviews that his son dreams of one day playing alongside him, stating:
“My son tells me: ‘Dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you!’”
What’s Next
Ronaldo Jr. is set to continue competing in the Vlatko Markovic tournament, with upcoming fixtures against England and Greece. As Portugal’s U15s aim for silverware, all eyes will remain on the young forward carrying the weight — and pride — of a legendary name.
