Nike officially launches the Mercurial Vapor Vini Jr. Player Edition, celebrating his journey and electrifying play style. The boots will be available globally on May 26, 2025.
The boot is named the Nike Mercurial Vapor Vini Jr. Player Edition and brings his journey to life through its “Color of Speed”—an iridescent nod to his game-changing quickness.
“Watching my favorite players growing up, they all wore Nike boots,” says Vini Jr. “For many years I’ve played with Mercurial exclusively — and even scored a goal in two Champions League finals. For my first Nike Player Edition boot, there was no need to move away from what already made me fly.”

The Nike Mercurial Vini Jr. Player Edition boots feature a striking design. The main color is black, accentuated by a black Nike Gripknit upper that contrasts Vini Jr.’s kit and evokes a feeling of speed.
The design incorporates multi-colored motifs on the side and heel, creating a unique look inspired by Vini Jr.’s journey:
The medial side of the boot fades from red to yellow, representing Vini Jr.’s formative years with Flamengo. The lateral side is awash in blue, green, and yellow, inspired by the colors of the Brazilian national team.
The distinctive color scheme also draws inspiration from the kites flown by Rio youth.
Officially, the colors are “Black/Dynamic Yellow/Green Spark/Soar”.
The phrase “Vini Fly, Vini Voa” (Vini Voa is Brazilian, meaning “Vini Fly” in English) repeats across each gradient and adorns the heel, drawing additional attention to his speed. An oversized Swoosh takes after Nike’s Vaporfly and Alphafly super shoes, doubling down on the acceleration he brings to the pitch. Vini Jr.’s Nike signature logo appears on the tongue, and a fading pearlescent plate finish rounds out the bold look.
The design of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Vini Jr. Player Edition is somewhat reminiscent of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 13.
Previously, Nike had presented Vinicius with a special boot in honor of the 2024 FIFA The Best title, but this was a player-exclusive, non-commercial edition.
