Chelsea are reportedly preparing a surprise bid for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who could be on his way out of the Bernabéu this summer.

The 24-year-old Brazilian is said to be unsettled at Madrid, feeling overshadowed by high-profile teammates like Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.

According to AS, Rodrygo finds himself in a “complicated moment” with “one foot out the door,” as incoming manager Xabi Alonso is believed to be open to selling him.

While Real Madrid have yet to make a final decision, Goal reports that Chelsea have already initiated talks with Rodrygo’s representatives to gauge his interest. However, no formal negotiations with Madrid have taken place at this stage.

Rodrygo has enjoyed a successful spell at Madrid, netting 68 goals and providing 50 assists in 267 appearances, and has won the Champions League twice. Despite his contract running until 2028, the club could be open to parting ways if the right offer arrives.

The Brazilian has also drawn interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, suggesting a Premier League move could be on the cards.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is reportedly frustrated over what he sees as an unfair scheduling advantage for Real Betis ahead of their UEFA Conference League final clash.

In related transfer news, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, with the Borussia Dortmund winger’s agent having held talks with the club. The Blues are reportedly prepared to double his current £2.5m-a-year salary.
