Salah and Van Dijk surprise popular young LFC fan Isaac at school
It was just another school morning for young Liverpool fan Isaac—until two of his idols showed up unexpectedly.
The six-year-old, known among supporters for his enthusiastic performances of classic LFC chants, was engrossed in a game of Snakes and Ladders.
Unbeknownst to him, Reds captain Virgil van Dijk was walking through the halls of Northwood Primary School and was heading right toward him.
Isaac was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic that causes him to develop at a slower pace than his peers.
His passion for the Reds has recently gained attention on social media, where he’s seen passionately playing Kop songs on his toy guitar.
After the initial of meeting the towering Van Dijk wore off, it was time for surprise number two.
Mohamed Salah approached Isaac’s desk next.
With proud parents Alan and Melissa watching, Isaac happily interacted with his heroes.
He showed them his stuffed animals—Virgil and Mo—that accompany him to school daily.
These toys provide comfort during his short walks and throughout his classes.
Now, he was meeting the real players.
The surprise visit was organized by LFC to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities in December.
A whirlwind tour of the AXA Training Centre followed.
Isaac, with his hands deep in the pockets of his grey school pants, excitedly chatted with many more of his favorite stars and even stopped them for a moment.
He even knocked to see head coach Arne Slot.
To cap off an unforgettable day, there was one last surprise.
After training, Van Dijk and Salah returned for a special announcement.
They revealed that Isaac has been chosen as the mascot for the upcoming Premier League match against Manchester City at Anfield.
Not a bad way to spend a typical Friday morning at school!
